Role in Project To Be

Sérgio took over the Ave Maria School Pedagogical Directorate in 2016, motivated by the commitment to discover each child´s talents, providing them with unique and enriched learning experiences, which allows them to develop their potential and fulfill their dreams.

Amongst his main responsibilities, the coordination and oversight of the curriculum are his focal point, ensuring that pedagogical practices are aligned to the best educational methodologies and individual needs of all who choose the education project of Ave Maria School.

Another component of his involvement is the promotion of the continuing development of his teaching and non-teaching team, so that everyone can keep the flame of vocation alive, in an unconditional spirit of commitment.
The proximity with the Families is, also, privileged and considered priority in the assumed duties, by the determining importance for an integrated and truly transformative education.

With the addition of the Ave Maria School into the 2023 Project To Be Education Group, it becomes part of its Pedagogical School Board.

Curriculum

With a degree in Biology and Geology (teaching), in 2004, Sérgio began his professional journey as a teacher in primary and secondary school, where he dedicated himself to the development of children, youth and adults, in public and private schools.

Commitment to educational excellence and in synergy to a complementary and innovative approach, he developed several short-term training actions and Postgraduate – in Information and Communication Technologies and in Educational Sciences – which contributed significantly to his growth and professional successes. Currently, he is taking a PhD in School Administration

Personal Note

Sérgio is passionate about the beauty of the creation of the world and driven by an insatiable curiosity for its functioning, he follows Ariadne’s thread as a guiding tool for life.

He finds the purpose of life in his own family and in travelling, which for him spending time with and sharing Truth is the knowledge of people’s essences.
